interesting idea, but no business :(

Take a bunch of PC's set up some dedicated space on HD on each one of them, and make it visible as monolith shared storage, with some implmentation quirk: data written to such storage distributed between all the PC's with recovery code, so if some of the PC's die, data will be still avail. In simple words somethink like RAID, but lan PC's instead of SCSI HD's. Any idea who might need such thing?
