JVM that they use:
java version "1.3.1.22-internal"

Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1_15-b01, mixed mode)
Apparently it's a known issue with this ancient jvm - Windows DEP crashes it.
Everything runs OK after disabling it (support.microsoft.com/kb/875352)
